Classroom Procedures

Lunch

Your child will have a lunch account at school.  The money for the account will be provided by the parents.  Money will be withdrawn from the account when your child eats breakfast or lunch. When this account reaches $5.00, a note will be sent home from the Food Services.  Any money brought to school for the lunch account should be put in an envelope labeled with your child's name, my name, room number, and date.  This information will be helpful if the envelope should get lost.

Snack

We have snack on a daily basis.  I do ask that the parents provide the snack for the children.  Unfortunately the snack has to be store bought.  The snacks do not have to be individually wrapped but it does have to show the ingredients of the snack.  Please provide enough snack for 22 individuals.  A snack bag will be sent home the Friday before your child will bring the snack to school.  Thanks for your contribution and cooperation.

Friday Folder

Each Friday the children will bring home their Friday Folder with the work for the week. The folder will have two pockets.  The pocket with the star icon will contain the work that has been completed and checked by me.  These papers may be kept at home.  The other pocket will have work that needs to be returned to school. Important notes from the office or myself may be sent home throughout the week.  CHECK your child's backpack EVERY DAY for any notes that may have been sent home.

Happy Birthday!!

Birthdays will be celebrated the day of the child's birthday.  If a child's birthday falls on the week-end or holiday, the birthday will be celebrated the school day before at 2:00.  All summer birthdays will be celebrated in the month of April and May.  If your child has a summer birthday, check the April and May calendar for your child’s birthday date. You may bring any birthday treat your child would like to share.  All treats will need to be prepackaged treats.  The ingredients must be on the package.  Please bring 22 treats to ensure all children will be sure to have a snack.  You are welcome to stay while your child is celebrating his/her birthday.

Discipline

Learning is more fun when you can concentrate and focus on the task at hand.  We all have behaviors that are not the best and unfortunately there will be consequences for those behaviors.  Our first lesson will be about rules and consequences.  I like to have these rules established with the help of my students.
